    2nd day. Woot!
Colin Edwards (Yamaha) 2’02.41 (56 laps)
Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) 2’02.44 (51 laps)

Both well inside the race record (2'03.253) but a little way off Vale's
    practice record of 2'01.833

Just maybe Colin will be able to hang with Vale next year.

I doubt it. Rossi has pretty much demonstrated that he's in a class by
    himself.

The lap times are very close together very early in this bike's
development. It could be that that's all that's available from this
bike at this time. The other thing is riders are paying more attention
to evaluating all facets of the bike's performance than how fast they
can go under competition conditions, their mindset has to be
    different.

Maybe he will (even though I am sceptical, but I'd love to be proven wrong
if that means someone else finally wins), but lap times at this point in
time are no indication of anything. They're just testing, and not trying to
really go as fast as they can (they'd be morons if they did, and they're
    not).
