Before I go spunking cash elsewhere anyone selling a 2 or 3 bike trailer or
flatbed equivalent. Needs to be in good condition but need not be
constructed for HardlyWorthits. It will be Trials lightweights and the odd
RD400. Tog, decluttering before your move perhaps?

  2. Sorry, hanging onto mine.

Plenty of used ones on eBay, mind.

About the most useful motorcycle accessory is... a trailer.

Also the very best way to suddenly make friends, having a suitable
    trailer.

  4. Until the buggers break it. Lent it to Robbo, ex of this parish, and got
    it back bent.

It will be interesting securing a trailer with an adult and a junior trials
bike. I expect the Pikeys have a satellite ready to pan in and already
monitor all forums such as this.

    Robbo? Bent? Never!!

I'd take a dim view if that happened to me.

FOAD chainage 'twixt bikes and trailer (assuming you're storing the
bikes on the trailer) and remove the coupling, or fit a FOAD wheel
clamp to it. Makes the trailer too heavy and bulky to pick up and
stuff in a van, makes bikes very difficult to remove as there's no
leverage. There's no answer to a petrol grinder I suppose, but that
makes a hell of a noise.

Yeah I was thinking that making one heavy lump was good, some help from Mr
Almax and removing the tow head

I can't believe you're going to ship some used bike trailer
from Blighty all the way to Patagonia. Surely you can buy one
somewhere in the New World for less than the cost of hauling it
    around the Horn.

But you have a RHD trailer, no use over there

Ah, but he's moving to the Soutern hemisphere, so the reverse coriolis
    force will cancel it out.

Until he tries to wheelie it, obviously.

    I don't fucking believe this!

Last week, the trailer I borrowed to get your bike from Auntie Carol's
lock-up in Altrincham was offered to me. Fully enclosed with a drop-down,
ride-up ramp with internal bars at ground level and waist level for
strapping the bikes down and three front wheels cages for chaining up to. 10
ratchet straps and three chains/locks. Not cheap at a grand, but **** me it
was a fucking great trailer after I reinforced the floor with 3/8"
    checkerplate ali.

'Course, *I* didn't want it and I didn't know anyone who did, so I said
"Thanks, but no thanks". It was flogged the day after.

Ha! It sounds great but I really need something I can hide up against a
wall in the garden. A CMF folding 2 bike unit is looking attractive.

The thing Kevin Weller has is a nifty bit of kit. It folds up/comes
apart and goes into the back of the car for when not towing anything.

Go for a 2+1 or 3 bike jobbie. You *will* end up using it for carrying
a single bike at some point, possibly a heavy road bike, & there's
nothing worse than watching the inside wheel of a very unbalanced
    trailer teeter up on bends.

You can still stand it on its side against a wall so don't worry about
a folding one. Just bung a tarp over it to keep the rain off the inside
bearing on whichever wheel's on the ground.

Indeed. My ancient Tarn trailer is modular thus that it can be used in
one, two, three (if not too lardy) bike or even (with the aid of a
cunning detachable chair wheel cradle I welded up) outfit configuration.
Quite, that also prevents the formation of a small pool with tiny island
for the midges to multiply in. I hoist mine on its side and chain it to
the posts of the fence it leans against.

The Tarn just had its 30th birthday last year. The hot dipped galvanised
chassis and alloy 'runners' help longevity. Still on the original
    indispension units and bearings too.
