I've just seen the word "precise" used as a verb.

    Grrrrrrr.

    I'm sorry, I don't quite comprehend.
Could you precise that up a bit for me please?

darsy emerged from their own little world to say
according to OED it is a V.tr.

trans. To make precise or definite; to define precisely or exactly; to
    particularize. Hence precising vbl. n.

    1866 T. N. HARPER Peace through Truth Ser. I. 252 Direct
asseverations..which precise the meaning of terms, which might otherwise be
ambiguous. 1872 Routledge's Ev. Boy's Ann. 139/1 Ask him, General, to
precise his accusation against me. 1887 J. C. MORISON Service Man ix. 313
Its solution would seem to require a little more precising of what is meant
by happiness, than is customary in ethical discussions.

For the last 3 weeks or so my Sametime (like an internal MSN) message
has been "I'm convinced we're all trapped in a dilbert cartoon."
Everyone that has noticed it agrees.

Possibly, but a weak judge would not be much use. With this lot you
would need someone of strong character.

heh. On US election night, I heard a Joe Schmoe being interviewed in
the street say "The conductance of Kerry's campaign wasn't very good".

I don't because I've stopped turning up for work, I delete any e-mails which
look like they're generic corporate spiel and I've stopped dialling in for
telephone conferences of more than 5 people.

So far it's proving to be a winning plan.

The thing that has never failed to surprise me about Scott Adams'
work, is that his current topic is often a topic of contention in our
    office that week.

Even down to the level of an individual behaving exactly like Wally or
Asok in the previous few days.

Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away, I used to work^H^H^H^H attend
an office for DEC. One of my colleagues once remarked that he didn't
feel like he contributed to the company. And he proved it.

He just stopped coming to work.

He would post in a timesheet once a month that said he was
"self-training" or some such, and spent a blissful year gardening,
fishing, restoring a car, etc, etc.

After twelve months someone finally noticed, and they laid him off. With
    a full redundancy package...

I ejected with a year's salary in my back pocket very shortly

There was a guy in DeathPark whose whole organisation had taken the package
and disappeared around him. He occupied a solitary cube in a field of
empties in D1. Came in every day with a book or a couple of magazines,
worked on his minesweeper skillz etc. He was still there when I got the
    heave-ho...

While I was an EKS for them, just before the great fire of 1990 in
Basingstoke, they employed a group (about 10 or 12) of EKS, put them in
a room and forgot about them for at least 3 months. I think they only
remembered that they existed after the roll call when the building
    burned down.
