    We've just returned.
I've fallen even more in love with the place.
I visited Paris for the first time and I just fell in love.
    We stayed near Provins.
    Wonderful, simply wonderful.
Michael Thomas helped loads as no one spoke English.
In fact I get quite pissed off when we get to the Tunnel and the locals
    started talking English.

Now, where do I sign up?

Thanks for the recommendation. I only managed to get through the first 6
CD's before going (I kept repeating them).
Then I did CD's 7 and 8 once whilst there.
We were invited out last Saturday with the owners of the gite. No one spoke
English and my wife was shocked that I spoke
French from 7pm till about 11pm.
I understood more than what I could answer though. I found that MT's
instruction on pronunciation was most helpful.

    pas de problem.
I've done CDs 1,2 and 3 of the Italian course about ten times now.
I've got them on my iPod now, so there's no excuse.
    Oh, she of little faith.
    Often the way.
I think he just rocks. Did you read the liner notes about his life?
    He's a interesting fellow.

I bought that one for my Dad, he's been learning Italian for years and he
tells me that he's learned more from the first few CD's than ever.
Yeah, but now she wants to live there because I can 'speak' French. I keep
telling her that It's just very basic but she can't judge as she only did
    Welsh at school.
Yeah I did. Wonder how many people he taught to tell the Nazi's to '****
    off' in their mother tongue.

Note for anyone considering buying CDs - type in MICHEL Thomas when
searching, for example, play.com, or you'll get "Michael Thomas' Better Gay
Sex" (or whatever it was called) as the best match....

........unless it was a Sir.Tony special holiday deal......... :)

Of course maybe I should have done some more classes before moving, but its
not too astounding to discover that, when you drop yourself in the middl of
the country you get quite adept at having everyday conversations as long as
they're not too technical. Biggest problems I have are : 1. People
realising I'm from the UK and trying to speak English with me weh I want to
improve my French skills; and 2. People who insist in speaking French but
with the odd bit of Occitan popped into the comversation.
