You could do a lot worse.

Can't remember the exact year, but a GS1100G, if it were eligible for
club plates, would be an extremely tempting proposition, at a reasonable
    price.
I am still convinced that the price of a motorcycle, and most other
things, too, is not related to the cost of production, but more to the
price the seller thinks they can get for it.

When I bought my Street Triple, it was the same price as a fairly plain
jane Bonnie, but I would expect it cost more to actually make. <shrug>

  3. :p

But it was amazing what that blue and silver busa attracted. There's
always the argumnent that I had come out of a 20 year relationship and
wasn't paying attention before that, of course. But I am pretty
certain there was something more going on there. Who knows? I
    certainly wasn't arguing ...

    My thoughts too!

Thought about buying one over there & bringing it back with us if we end
up staying for a year or so somewhere down the track but by the time you
add in CoC, GST & rego costs it works out not much cheaper than for a
local new one. (Plus a local one's much less likely to score one or two
    winter's worth of salt damage!)

No, but it doesn't feel like cable slack anyways.
I've got control of the revs, but I have to squeeze the grip like
(***unprintable simile***) ummm "very carefully" or it goes jerky on me.

Feels like drive train/ gearbox/ chain free play.

Is no big deal - I just slip the clutch. Just a nuisance.
