    Are you the 4,400 bidder?

  4. Can you pull their details and phone them from a second chance offer? If you
can and they seem genuine take some large people with you and meet them at
their registered address, not a car park.

There was a father and son on the news recently who had all their wonga
    pinched during a similar "purchase".

It does look a little odd yeah.

I bought my Thunderace via an ebay auction 'introduction' from a local
guy, went and saw it, HPI'd the reg number, went into the house and
checked ALL the paperwork and took my significantly large father-in-law
with me who knows a shitload about bikes.

I would stick to something that's local to you and go and see it, find
as much wrong with it as possible, get a ride on the pillion (saves
having to hand over any cash), and leave a deposit. Then go back later
    with the full amount.

The one directly from the rear looks a tad weird, I admit, but the
    other pics look OK.

Why have you got the 2nd chance when there appears to be a lot more of
    the bidders above you?

    That would twitch my nose.

  13. Are you 100% sure the message came from the original seller?

I had one of these second chance offers and it had nothing to do with
the original seller. Have they asked for name and address details? If
so you can bet they're going to start mentioning Western Union in a
    minute.

That's assuming it was sent by the seller. I get questions every week
about second chance offers that I've never sent. Though I struggle to
see the scam unless it's going to be followed by a request for a
    deposit.
