....in 4 months of riding. Personal FBOTY. 07:10am, Orpington bound from Croydon. Turning right on the Coney Hall roundabout at West Wickham, the front end went. Bike down, self sprawling. I looked for the ice, but could only find a large quantity of salt, much of which was adhering to person. Got up, did best to ignore cars trying to drive past, turned off ignition, picked up bike and wheeled it off from the roundabout. At kerbside, decided to change round to the nearside to put the bike on the stand to check for damage. Whilst going round the back, lost balance and fell over. Bike followed, pinning ankle to ground. Much waving of arms and shouts of "F****** Hell!", which only served to add to amusement of observing cages. Finally levered bike off leg, found that apart from a hole in one bar muff, a scrape to the exhaust, and a rather rakish angle to the handlebars, there was no significant damage. Proceeded onwards more sedately, Olympus somewhat distant. Hereendeththelesson.
