I so nearly bought a model of this, not a static model either.

Bugattis are generally lovely, I spent a little time at a company that
hand built and restored Bugatti cars. Very advanced for their day they were.

To me, it looks like it belongs in this age, not 1937.

Their engines were way ahead of their time too.

I think they were supercharged too, and had over head cams. I watched a
few different types of Bugatti engine being built, and fired up for the
    first time.

The other two machines I was impressed with were a blower Bentley, and a
monster v12 supercharged racing Merc that looked like a fuel tank on
    wheels with the body off.

The Bugatti cars were poetry in motion though.

There's a book I've been trying to find for ages: I read it once, years ago,
but I haven't seen it since, and I can't remember the title. It was a bio
of the great Robert Smith-Barry, who founded the Gosport school during WWI.
    Any ideas?

I believe this is the one hanging from the ceiling at the EAA in
wisconsin. If it is, then yes. I may even have pictures of it. I'll have
    to look and see.
