Did Reliant fit those items as standard on Scimitars then?

Being semi-fluent in Loon myself, I read that as implying that Owen has
decided to out the Red Baron.

In which case, I'll have the LH switchgear, the relays and the HBoL back at
    some point, right?

Certainly not... The Red Baron will shortly fly again with certain
modifications (all very hush-hush)... The Bandit however is very much
    up for sale...

BTW Platy, enjoyed "Sagittarius Rising" immensly... Superb book, many
thanks. Will return it very shortly...

  9. That is one of the finest books on flying ever written, and (IMHO) one
of the very, very few that counts as "literature".

The author only died recently, IIRC. Made 100, he did.

And on another note, I'm reading N.A.M .Rodger's The Command of the Sea,
Volume Two in his trilogy "A Naval History of Britain".

Volume One is The Safeguard of the Sea (Dark Ages to 1649: "Command"
goes up to 1815), and is out of print in hardback but recently issued in
    p/back.

Both volumes have had rave reviews, and I can see why. It's quite simply
the finest work on Britain, its seafaring, its navy, and how and why
seafaring is utterly woven into this country's history.

It also has a superb glossary and the best bibliography I've ever seen,
in which he not only lists sources but adds a few words of comment on
    them as well.

Utterly, utterly magnificent. Anyone with the slightest interest in
history or ships must read this.

  12. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the

    "What Algy did next" ...

... by the suffused red glow of the instrument lights, Algy
could see the beads of sweat trickling from Biggles' finely-trimmed
moustache. Algy realised that it was getting awfully warm, so slid
gracefully out of his seat and with tigerish grace stripped down to
    his black leather webbing ...

Kewl. In fact, I've got a copy of his last book, about his time in China in
the 20s, teaching the Chinese Air Force to fly, if you want to read it.

The Last Enemy - Richard Hillary. Pretty well anything by St-Ex. I'm also
quite fond of Philip Wills, and some of the early Richard Bach.

Biggles glanced across, licked the sweat from his upper lip and
swallowed nervously. "I say old boy, I think that last one was close,
I could feel him pumping his hot lead into us" Algy smiled, lent
    forward and grabbed the joystick....
