In the end, I did the three sighting laps at the start of the first
session, then on the 'proper' session, I gradually built-up the beans
for the first three laps. After that I rode as normal. Seemed to do the
trick, as I didn't get any 'new tyre' moments.

The BT014s were superb. I initially thought that they were pretty much
the same as the 010s I'd had on it previously (the profiles are pretty
similar), but on the second session I started scraping the pegs round
Clearways - something I'd never done on the 010s - so evidently they've
got a bit more grip, and are a bit more confidence-building. Pressures
were at 32PSI front, 36 rear, which seemed to do the job nicely on a
    cool-but-sunny evening.
