Was getting the bike ready to take in to the dealer,
and noticed the damn tax disc is missing!!
    Cheeky cnuts!!!

Can I get another from the post office or do I need to contact the DVLA ?

You have to report it stolen, and go to your local DVLA office.
    They'll charge you £7 for a replacement.

    Thanks for the info.

    That's typical that is.
Add £7 to the cost of petrol and time involved getting to and queing at my
    local DVLA office,
and the fact it was 12 months to end of May 04, it's probably not worth
    bothering.
    Fucking pikey twats.
    I love Welwyn Garden City.

  4. I live in WGC, as well.
    It's turning into a dump.
    Whereabouts are you?
Just so I know where to get my next tax disk from.:)

    Whereabouts are you?
    Too close to pikeyville.
Sorry, I'm taking the bike to Colin Collins and hoping I won't be bringing
    it back.

  10. I thought that didn't work for the new ones? Or is that photocopying?
Not that mine has ever been anywhere near my bike.

Neither will work as the new ones have gold bands and holograms on them.

No they won't, unless they're the local DVLA office.

I found out all this when mine was stolen.

Due to my own fuckwittedness I managed to lose one from my pre-72 bike.
There was £7 charge to replace it. It was free to go to the back of the
queue and get another 12 months.

Its going to have to work for me as well. Mainly because I can't get one
    to put on my bike.

For the first time in fucking years I want to get a tax disc. But can't
find the logbook for MZ Wreck, not that it was ever in my name.

I thought if I went to the DVLA and applied for one I could tax it on the
back of the application. Not the case, I have to wait for the V5. Which
is a bit of a pest.

And the moral? Normal service is resumed in the tax disc department.
