I've watched it several times. I think the acting isn't bad at all, with
the obvious stand outs being the G'Kar and Londo characters.

He was also incredibly strict over the dialog. Ad-libbing was not
permitted by the actors because virtually everything had a hidden meaning.
Some of it only becomes apparent after repeated viewings.

Thanks, but hotel is fine. I'm busy raping my per-diem and the hotel
    has an excellent reward scheme.
Unfortunately I can't get that one. We have a requirement to be
onsite by 11am at the very latest, and normally 10am.
That's the one I was getting back. But if I leave earlier (I need to
get a half hour train into Birmingham as well) it's £95 for an open
    return.

Now, I don't pay for that either, so makes no odds, but sitting on
trains for nearly four hours is shit.

There's not a whole heap to sample. It only ran for one series before
    it was canned.

    Eh?

DS9 was excellent once Sisko went bald , and while Voyager had some great
episodes it was pretty average for a lot of the time.
Enterprise started ok , went downhill badly in S2 and then picked up again
    for S3.

Well worth checking out if you have even a passing interest in scifi.
They have recently released a complete box set of all four seasons so
there's quite a lot of the individual series box sets being flogged off very
    cheaply on ebay.

Heh, I *am* that sad bastard who has the Babylon 5 Universe box sitting
    in his bedroom cupboard.

I've got all four seasons of the new Battlestar Galatica series on DVD.
I think I've also got Razor too. It's a lot darker than the original
series. Very compelling viewing, although if you're even slightly
depressed, you'll end up topping yourself after a couple of seasons. The
tall slim blonde cylon makes it all worth it though.

I can also recommend the new Caprica series, although it does start off
a bit slow it's starting to get quite addictive.

Though they did make Serenity... But you really need to watch the series
before you watch that to get the full benefit from it.

Meh. "It's better than Star Trek", AKA damning with faint praise. I
    liked
it when I was young and didn't know any better. ;-)

I do have to admit that it's quite good for an SF show that's not
    been
cancelled. Personally, I like "Firefly" better (cancelled in the
    first
season). And "Dollhouse" (cancelled after the second season). And
"Century City", the only _hard_ SF TV series I've ever found
    (cancelled
after 9 episodes, of which only 4 were aired).

Hm, methinks there's a pattern emerging here. ;-) TV networks
    obviously
don't rate serious SF highly. If you want a long running, high quality
science fiction, you have to turn to comedy - Red Dwarf or Futurama.

OK, the new BSG miniseries was nice, but I stopped watching after the
first season because the writers were writing themselves into a corner
with all the spiritual Cylons crap. And Flashforward is watchable so
    far.

Except it was cancelled, after series 5, albeit in this case, they had
some advance warning so were able to wrap up most of the story arc.
Bab5 wasn't taken seriously either. It took a huge push to get Warner to
release the first series on DVD. Then when they realised that it was
actually profitable, they did the rest.

Then there were the straight-to-DVD follow-up episodes. Not sure if they
    made money on that.

Ah you see I quite like them two, G'Kar in particular, ok there's a few
iffy episodes but overall I like.

Now Sheridan on the other hand ffs some of his tally ho acting....

I thought the Londo character was particularly well done. He isn't meant to
be human for a start. G'Kar is sometimes good, occasionally wanting but he
had to sit through a shedload of makeup each day. Delen is a great part and
as for Mira Furlan, well.... www.leksikon-yu-mitologije.net/files/IP1394.jpg

In Crusade the Technomage character is *woeful*

She didn't look that good in the episode of NCIS she was in.
I can't recall, I supposed I'll watch it again one day. Maybe.

It was better than Sinclair's... Talk about wooden.
