Scalp itch from helmet

Last weekend I rode about 600 miles in a Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas loop.
This weekend I did a 550 mile loop South from Dallas.

On both trips my scalp started to itch unbearably when the temperature began
to rise. I bought bottled water and wet my hair in an attempt to reduce the
problem but it made little improvement. I finally had to ride without a
    helmet to get any relief.

I don't have dandruff or bugs(kooties?) and don't have the problem when not
wearing a helmet. I have a full face Nolan 100 and a generic 3/4 open face
helmet. The problem exists with both.

Any serious suggestions for a solution will be appreciated.

    Mike,
Get some ventilation in there. Your scalp is "perspiring", and the
moisture is what you feel. Find some type of tubing that will not interfere,
and face it to where it will pick up some air. Those who wear body armour
during the summer have learned that a piece of tubing from an oxygen mask
placed in the A/C duct, and inside the vest from the front, or under an arm
    does wonders!

  6. I think you are refering to hot spots rader than itch. This is normal when
you wear a helmet not properly fitted. In the aviation community we deal
with this problem a lot. May be a scull cap may help or get another helmet
that fit really snug. See after several hours of wearing a helmet not
properly fit blood does not circulate very well in certain areas and cause
these hot spot that will drive anyone crazy. I had that problem when I flew
in a Blackhawk during Gulf One. Now the army came with this new helmet that
cost lots of $$$$ and can be fit just perfect. People reduce complaining
    dramatically.
