Weell. I haven't looked closely at the product, but:

It's a cheapo pocket pc, whereas the tapwave zodiac is a high quality
palmOS unit with great graphics. Depends whether you like palm or M$ PPC I
guess. I find the menus and setup screens on PPC infuriating.

A couple of the comments on your linked page ain't very inspiring on the
    cust serv front.

If it has the whole of the uk on 256meg does it really go right to street
level? (no postcode search on viamichelin 2.5 either though)

The gps unit is a serial connected jobby, trailing wires in a car,
    naffola.

Does it do voice nav? It's a real boon not having to glance at the unit
    all the time.

Can you load non proprietary point of interest files to it? Essential for
scamera detection. (viamichelin doesn't give voice warnings of approaching
    a POI though unfortunately)

Nope, it's all a bit diy so far. Viamichelin is being actively developed
    though so maybe soon...

It's very much homebrew, but a reasonable quality alternative to the pocet pc
offerings at a much cheaper pricepoint.

Buy the Morgan kit. It's PPC, so the Navigation software packaged with
it doesn't really matter as TomTom is <cough> easily available <cough>.

TomTom is by far the best SatNav software out there at the moment.

However, that's a good price for a half decent PPC with a GPS reciever
    and car kit included.

Having been a Palm 'evangelist' from the III through to the Zire71 I
switched to PPC at Christmas as the proprietory hardware and crap
software for Palms started to piss me off in a big way. (eg. I wanted a
WiFi card so I could stream MP3s to my Zire71 - the only one that works
is the Palm card - essentially a rebadged Sandisk - for which Palm
wanted around 100 quid, when a generic card to work in a PPC was under
    40 quid.)

I just bought a Palm Tungsten T5 and they threw a WiFi card in for free.

I've used Mapopolis and Prymenav, plus some of the much older TomTom
    stuff.

flash was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
The Medion ones aren't too bad (I've got the MDPNA 100, and ISTR that
at least one other UKRMer has one, too). What would annoy me is that
it only comes with the UK map as the others are 70 quid each from
Medion. If you want the whole of Western Europe it'll work out cheaper
to get the MDPNA 100 from Halfrauds.

On my Medion the UK street level map is about 150MB, ISTR.
Yuck. Later ones to have the receiver integrated.
I think it does, most of them do.
AFAIK you need a third-party shareware to do so but then you can.
