Does anyone know wether live race feeds from either the SB's or MotoGP
racing are beemed via a satellite, preferably unecrypted. Want to circumvent
the need to subscribe to paytv ( foxtel, optus, etc) if I can point a dish
    to asian sat for instance.

I have access to a satellite receiver system and was wondering if any of the
    asian sats beem it live.

Need to know satellite name to begin tracking it.

  2. No idea.

Have ya tried asking on some of the Sat TV forums or newsgroups?
    http://www.lyngsat.com/index.html might have something useful.

I'd be interested in knowing too. The main reason I have an Austar sub is
    for the bike racing.

A response I got from a Satellite forum.
    ======

"You can have the MotoGP and Superbikes live on ESPN Star Sports, a free to
air sport channel on Asiasat 3S, see
    http://www.espnstar.com/jsp/cda/index.html

Will require a 2 metre dish at least."

The foxtel supplied 90cm dish doesnt cut it. Now finding a spot for it in
the backyard, without pissing off the neighbours would be my problem.

You'll probably have to get council permit for the satellite dish.

For the $ that'll cost ya and pain to setup just get a basic Austar/Foxtel
    subscription.

I'm tempted to either get a 60/80cm dish and point that at C1 and use the
1.2M dish for other things or get another 1.2. Or just not bother.
