    no. You missed burnt's other post where he mentioned having positioned
    himself beside a radiator at the expense of a member of his team who
    commutes on a bike at the moment.

    Not a big fan of Eue-de-Vie (though Akvavit is much worse, IMO). Blue
    Bols is OK, but only in very small doses.

    Don't make the mistake of thinking that all Eaux-de-Vie are the same;
    they're not. It's just a generic term for any distilled spirit,
    generally made from fruit, so you can get almost any flavour you like.
    As it happens the Alsace is famous for its fruit liquors (as opposed
    to liqueurs) so I've sampled quite a few of the mass market ones,
    usually at normal spirit strength, and some of them are quite nice.
    I'll bring a bottle over next time I make it to an *OSM.

    Many French folk still proudly boast of some ancient relative who
    still has a license (no longer generally issued) to distill their own
    liquor and will produce a bottle of the stuff after dinner - treat
    with caution, as it's often original strength and quite frequently
    disgusting. Some of them are quite nice, though.
    Aye, I'd agree with that. The very smell of it sets my stomach in
    motion and the only times I've actually drank it I've regretted it
    almost instantly.
