MBO rescues German motorcycle manufacturer Sachs

    8th November 2006

Sachs Fahrzeug- und Motorentechnik GmbH, Germany’s oldest motorcycle
manufacturer, has been rescued from insolvency by a management buy out
completed on 3rd November. Sachs is the successor company of the
Nuremberg-based Hercules Werke GmbH, which was established in 1886, and
makes small motorcycles and has long been a major supplier of small
    engines to third-party motorcycle makers.

Insolvency proceedings which began at the end of June this year were
triggered by pensions liability inherited from Hercules bicycle
manufacturing business which Sachs acquired in the 1960s. Sachs’
operations will continue from its existing location. It is represented
in the UK by distributor 3X.

Is the fork/shock dept seperate to this company? I thought they would have
mentioned it in the article. They supply to Honda don't they? I seem to
recall having Sachs stuff on the blade ...

Haha, true. Anyhoo, my mistake, it was Showa I was thinking of, not Sachs.
