Today marks the 32nd anniversary of the tragic accident at Monza. Time for rememberance and to
watch the classic video "Against the Odds".

I barely remember, since I was a little kid. But I do remember... it was a
solemn moment in motorcycle history as far as I am concerned. I remember
many adults that were all choked up, and I remember shedding some childish
    tears because of that.

Yes, I know -- in fact, Jarno was my childhood hero, and May 20th I got my
first tattoo in his honor. You can always check out my homage to him:

Ducati - I've owned three of them over the years.

AFM and Alice's Restaurant - been there and done that. AFM in the '70s. Alice's since the '70s
(although I now go there in my Boxster).

  5. Hi Dan,
Don't know about the video, but I remember Jarno having the cleanest
riding style since Mike Hailwood. I wonder how either of them would
ride in these days of knees, legs and backsides everywhere but on the
    bike.

I had the fortune of racing against Mike-The-Bike in 1978 at Bathurst.
He was having a warmup ride on for his I-O-M come-back on a TZ750. He
was VERY neat & tidy then when others were hanging it all out.
I have also seen photos of Jarno, see
    http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~peer/racer-jarno.html where he wasn't that
    far from a present-day style.
