    I round a "BMW R1100GS R1100R R1100RT R1200 ~Black Leather Hat Cap" on
    eBay (Item number: 230047271375). So I asked the seller a question:

    "Will this leather cap work with an R850R? My roommate rides a K75: will
    this cap work with that? It's not an R, but it is a BMW. (I suppose that
    it's not at all Honda-compatible, though.)"

    I notice that for Honda Magna Shadow Spirit Aero ACE 750 1100 riders he
    has one face mask, and for riders of Suzuki GSXR Hayabusa GSX Katana RM
    GS SV he has a different face mask ... but illustrated with the same
    picture.

    I think people who make ads like like that on eBay are turds. eBay calls
    it keyword spam.

    The worst "Keyword" spamming is when a seller puts "not
    GSX-R/Hyabusa/Whatever bike" in their ads. Type in any of the above and
    you're bombarded with crap that's got **** all to do with what you want.

    Well, that's not deceitful, it's just dumb.

    This one makes me cry: 130042905631
    1999 BMW R1100GS PARIS DAKAR RALLEY STYLE BMW GS
    Buy it now: $3000
    It's "Damaged" and has been declared "non repair" in CA and can't be
    titled in any state.
    From the pictures, it needs
    * rear subframe bent back into shape. The only seriously structural part
    here is the rear shock mount.
    * rear taillight assembly
    * rear luggage racks
    * left rear turn signal
    * rider's seat
    * air intake
    * front forks inspected
    * front subframe tubular steel bits bent back into shape;
    * front subframe inspected
    * new instrument cluster, headlights, turn signals
    * new handle bar and some switchgear

    Cosmetic bits:
    * right side body panel
    * tool kit, cover
    * passenger seat
    * left valve cover
    * left valve cover guard
    * fuse box lid
    * rubber bits between the fuel tank and the plastic whatsit that only
    looks like it holds up the instruments and the beak.

    Given its age I'd also replace the brake lines. On general principles
    I'd do a full service. And while I'm at it I might as well put new tires
    on and a new battery in.

    It's amazing how much superficial damage this bike has (and what
    superficial damage the bike got away without!), but how good the serious
    shit looks: the wheels are round; the tubes are straight, the telelever
    is okay, the engine has oil, the paralever looks good. I wonder what the
    f! happened.

    It's really a shame that the bike can't be re-titled in any state. If
    there was a way to reverse that stupid ruling (and I had the space to do
    it) I'd rebuild this one.

    Crap. I wish I had the time, space, and money; I'd just buy this and use
    it as the basis for a complete custom bike. Maybe an Akira knock-off ...
    but I'll wait for a busted new K1200 for that. :)

    Hey, with Tardis Express, that's a bargain: you can schedule it for
    delivery yesterday. Unfortunately, not many eBay merchants offer that as
    a shipping option.

    Didn't you read the thing about how to become RICH on e-Bay?
    They teach you how to rip people off. Scammers and Spammers, off with
    their HEADS!

    Bad idea. I used Tardis Express and they accidentally shipped me a
    functioning Dalek. There goes the neigborhood (quite literally).
