Thanks to prawn and Jackie for inviting me to the Rye bonfire. It was
a lovely evening, with fantastic fireworks.

The only unfortunate part of the celebrations were going past two
kinda-dead-looking kiddies bodies laying in the A259 with various
adults looking quite upset around them. I remember glancing down at a
child wearing a pink hooded coat, horizontal in the road. I continued
on my way as normal and upon departing Chateau prawn at about 11pm saw
my route home was closed due to a 'fatal accident' and the police
weren't having any of my charms to let me past. Cue 90 minute journey
home the LOOOOOOOOONG way. Bad night for the kiddies.

I remember once being told to make a detour [1]. I wouldn't have
minded, but my flat was about 200 yds after the police barriers were
put up. The detour I took to get home was about three miles.

[1] A fatal (IIRC) shooting in Brixton on Coldhabour lane outside a pub
(renowned for being a dealers place) near to Herne Hill Road (Can't
remember the name of the pub). Bloody inconsiderate if you ask me.

I can't find any mention of it on the BBC or Meridian website.

    The only thing close was
    <http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4432812.stm> but relates to a
different RTA as this one must have happened around 18:30-ish

Perhaps they'll get their finger out on Monday.

It's only a couple of dead kids that you don't know.

    Get over it.
