....not to come to the BOSM

    Weather looking OK? Check
    Managed to fix side-stand? Check
Queued up in the post office with piss-smelling OAPs to get roadtax?
    Check
Found sleeping bag & tent? Check
Found lining for Goretex jacket? Check

    ****.

And as a chance to fall at the last hurdle - what sort of examples of
    civilisation[1] are actually going?

[1] i.e. not fat middle-aged unintelligible (to me) Northerners?

    [1]

[1] before the addition of beer, obviously ..

I'm going, that's all that really counts.

    Wanna convoy it?

    10-4, rubber duck!

I wasn't thinking about leaving until after lunch, mind. Also, mildly
taken with the idea of mashing the first 50 or so miles up the A1(m).
Drop me an email with your thinking re: routes/times.

Now, just got to figure out how the **** this tank-bra/bag compo that
Bonwick left with me actually fits on the bike without the bag poking
    you in the gut.

Have you contacted Jackie? If not, you can't go.

See, there's your excuse just there.

Sure. I have to visit a couple of 3* in San Sebastian, so I'll better do it
in a single week-end in early may :)

    Hint: get a smaller gut.

I've been on Atkins for the last 6 weeks, and have knocked off 10lbs.

(A diet where you can eat as much cheese and meat as you like is
definitely my kind of thing ...)

I've lost 16 pounds since Christmas.

The shape of the tank means the top/back edge of the bag is pointing
towards you - I suspect it might have been OK on Andy's 690, but it
doesn't quite match my 640 with it's larger "touring" tank.

well, sure - if I had a room booked, I wouldn't bother bringing
anything other than a change of contacts.

But, even though I've done much worse in my youth, I don't fancy
sleeping rough in +2C temperatures, so I really need the tent/sleeping
    bag minimum.

What kind of early-to-rise lunatic do you think I am?

Roughly the same really. Lunchtime-ish departure, hoof it up to Luton
then something like A6 to Market Harborough, A4034 to Lutterworth,
A5/A47 to Hinckley, A447/A511/A514 to Derby and then take any convenient
    route to Hulland Ward.

    There's a reason I have a tailpack.
