    Hi,

Although it's been quite hot up here today, the bike seemed to run hot
today - stuck in traffic for 10 mins (roadworks) and I could feel it through
    my trousers...

After the run (another 50 miles later), I could only touch the crankcase for
    about 1/2 a second.

    Normal?

If idle was ok and it didn't slow down at all, it was fine. I fitted a
large GSXR750 oil cooler on my Bandit 600, helps a lot with cooling it
does. A little too much in cold weather imho, but that's easily fixed.
