Let's be honest, you'd have to pay him for improving it.

Motorcycles should be FUN, not something to be too scared of.

If someone offers you their car and you use it, you KNOW that you
could write it off. You could do the same with your own car.

If someone offers you their motorcycle then they trust you to take
care of it. They *know* that there's a possiblity that you'll crash
it, they also face that possibility every time they get on it. The
bike is unfamiliar to you. Take it easy.

The Terms & Conditions of CIHAGM, as explained to me by prawn in April
'05 are as follows: "If you brake it, you fix it." Seems simple to
    me.

  6. I know this is "the rule" but what happens despite best intentions and
promises that the friend cannot pay up due to lack of funds? Anyone
    experienced this scenario?

This is probably going to be news to you, old chap, but it is
technically possible to brake a motorcycle without falling off. So the
    advice is a little OTT.

I suppose you could sue them, but if they can't afford to pay for it
then they can't afford to pay for it.

The OP was worred specifically about putting his mates bike in a
ditch, so my blitherings were biased towards his feelings.

And I know that it's possible to brake a bike without falling off. :)

You coming to EoSM? (Have I asked this before, the question seems
    familiar?)

You have. I am starting to feel slightly stalked.

The answer is still "maybe". I'm an old tease, aren't I?

    You love it.
You're a very wicked man, but I wouldn't say old. Did I meet you at
BoSM? The whole event was a bit of a blur.

You did not. Count your blessings, one by one.

Harvest their organs and sell them on ebay, it's the only fair thing to
    do.
