I have to collect Nordwest#2 on Thursday from near Colchester. Mappy
    says M1,M25,A12. I really don't fancy that and prefer M1, A14 then...

Seller reckons A14, M11 to Duxford then A505 and across from there.
Opinions (other than don't go at all), bearing in mind I will be towing
    a trailer?

A14, M11 and A505 Is the correct answer. Avoid rush hour and think
about when the trucks heading for the ferry will be passing that way.
Do the trip frequently so have tried all of the variations. OH and the
Camping and Caravan show is on at the NEC so its extra busy at evening
    rush hour.

It is the way I would go, I go over there a lot, the A120 is dualled a
fair bit of the way from Stansted to Colchester now.
The A505 takes you miles round, if you were going that way you'd be
better off staying on the A14 north of Cambridge and not using the M11
    at all.
