Nope, but I have an M4 of similar ilk that runs the 996 MAG V-twin, and a
few handy contacts for most things old and unusual, JAP's were
interesting cos they were slotted into just about everything at some
point, what is it about 770cc early 30's? (the nice castings and bearing
look post 20's) apic of the timing side would be good as well.

You could make a very nice period racer with that.

That explains the massive webbing then, mid 30's then, at least spares are
relatively easy to find, you should be able to find a Sturmey Archer 3
speed HD box on it, and get away with a MK6 carb, the mag will be
expensive though, did you get a crank with it, and if so did it still have
    iron pistons?

The vageries of 70 years of history I guess. Maybe someone needed a couple
of studs one day and thought
"I know where there are a couple about the right length, where's me
    angl^H^H^H^H hacksaw"

  17. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "platypus"
Aye, but I was hoping it might have been an exotic factory special of
some sort, and the rest of the bits are residing, wrapped in oiled brown
paper, in some old giffer's shed somewhere. I must admit the railcar
    application hadn't occured to me.

  18. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember tallbloke <>
    saying something like:

Would you be able to source internals, barrels, heads, etc, for that?
Pistons, I suppose, wouldn't be a great problem; there's always
something that's very close indeed in the piston makers' cats.
