rossi versus alonso

Hi there,

Did you guys read about the Rossi vs Alonso (F1 champ) challenge?
Alonso is reportedly unimpressed with Rossi's Ferrari tests.
This was in the dutch
Rossi in an interview:
"I've read that Alonso with a GP bike can get to podium if he would
practice somewhat. So let's race 3 times. Once in F1, once in rally
car, once on bike, and add all times."

Then, Alonso in 'Gazzetto dello Sport':
"Valentino wants to challenge me 3-fold? I think the audience will
enjoy this, bring him on, I'm ready."

Hmm... looking forward to it, although it seems very unlikely to
actually take place. Much too costly, staging 3 races for playing.

Both of those blokes have such a popular following that advertising revenue
from telecasts might make it possible!

 

Anyone know how popular those Race of Champions made-for-TV events in the
French soccer stadium are with the advertisers?
