Looks like that was a true statement by Rossi. Maybe he could have
pressured the Stoner of last year into a mistake, but Stoner has shown
alot of maturity since his move to Ducati. Last year Rossi had enough
bad luck to allow Hayden's consistency to take the championship. but
this year is looking like a head to head battle. Reminds me of the
Epic battles between Rossi and Gibernau.

A more "riding for points" rider i have not seen [ok Roberts]

Such a fantastic challenge by Hayden [who i repeat is a nice guy] in
    his W/Champion year

Sounds like Rossi this year. Maybe he should stop crying about Elias.
Says a lot that Rossi got beaten by him last year, doesn't it? So much for
the "greatest of all time". Biggest whinger maybe :)

What it says is you have ****-all of a clue what you are talking about. Were
you born a wanker or do you practice?

  8. No, not on a long term basis. But he most certainly was, for the first
time I can remember, whining loudly after the Elias pass at Turkey. I
have to wonder if Vale was actually rattled slightly by Tony's pass?
How much of his subsequent lost speed was due to the degrading tire, and
how much was due to a slight lack of confidence after the Elias pass and
his earlier off at the fast sweeper. Or maybe I'm smoking something? ;)

IMO, I don't see anything remotely wrong with the pass. Elias took the
inside line, slowed, and forced Rossi off the well rubbered pavement.
Valentino, driving around in the dust and marbles, lost the front and
nearly went down. Entirely his mistake. To piss about that seems
uncharacteristic and more than a tad hypocritical.

IMO, Vale is past his peak. He lost the title last year by crashing
while under pressure, something he never would have done a few years
back. Like all riders before him, the continual strain of MGP is
starting to take its toll. His 'happy mask' comes down more frequently,
and he's looking decidedly more stressed and irritable. I'm not
knocking him in any way, he's only human and he will eventually burn
out, as has every rider before him. I give him another 2 years before
he decides he'll have more fun driving WRC. (He's too much of a racer to
want to jump into Eff Wun. Parading around is not his style.)

NO, Yamaha cost him 60 points, he lost by 12?You do the math.

Frankly, i dont mind if he gets beat, but not by a rider who rides
    around for points

No way, IMHO he hasent even peaked yet, that he could stay and pass
Stoner a few times on that Diesel power Yamaha speaks volumes, the
tables will turn on Euro tracks where Ducati will lose its HP advantage

Hayden had clutch problems all season, got knocked off by Pedrosa, and Rossi
was leading when he choked and binned it. You do the math
If he gets beaten by such a person, not to mention choking under pressure
and binning it, then he doesn't deserve to be champ. So much for "the
    greatest of all time"

Not really. No problem with the yammy in corners. Of course, as he showed at
valencia last year, he's prone to choking under pressure :)

As for "Greatest of all time"...? i think the stats speak for
themselves! whether you personally like the guy or not, he holds
almost ever record there is in MotoGP. As for choking under
pressure...? i think Rossi is usually the one putting the pressure on.
I agree that he choked in Valencia last year and thats why Hayden won
the championship. everyone has their great days, i.e. Rossi's
qualifying lap in China, and their bad days, i.e. Rossi - Valencia
last year. but There is something to be said for Hayden's performances
last year too! He was the most consistent rider in the paddock all
year. Rossi was on his A game when he was, but when he wasn't he
couldn't do much about it. and Yes, Yamaha cost him 60 points... but i
can also imagine Hayden doing even better than he did if his clutch
issues wouldn't have been giving him problems. remember, he was
developing a works bike with new parts almost every weekend.
