Ross on Wye UR?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Mar 21, 2010.

  1. I've just won a nice set of exhaust cans for the Duke on Fleabay.
They're in Ross on Wye, as the header suggests. Is there anyone nearby
who can do a UR collection?

  2. As long as it's sorted (paid for) at work, I am going to Ross on Wye
on Tuesday to pick up a car and driving back to Hitchin if that's any
    help.

    Wessie is probably your man.

When do they end, and any idea about pickup times?

I'm off this week, so could possibly pick up during the day - but don't
really want to make the trip up there during the evening.

Getting them to you is possible - as I need to be in Holborn a week on
Tuesday, so if you can give me a room for the night and it's not a
complete nightmare to get into Holborn from your place assuming I set
off early enough, that's a possibility.

I'm in Gloucester so could do pick up and get them as far as Bristol. Or
even Oldham as I'm going that way on Good Friday.

  5. Massive help, yeah. What time will you be in ROW?

  6. That'd be good, too, actually.
Yeah, my office is in the City now, so I could take the K to work and
even give you a lift, dropping you in Holborn.

You're welcome to stop over, irrespective.

  8. I'm not sure, I have to go to Bristol first and then on to Ross so it
will probably be late PM by the time I am there, I can be more precise
tomorrow when I have confirmation about the payment for the car. (It's
    a new company car).

How many spare cans do you need for this bike?

    25 miles ish.

Normally wouldn't be a problem to venture over. Got a bit on my hands at
    the moment.

  14. Heh. No.

£26 for a pair, as well. Bargain.

  15. We-ell.... it's wearing its second pair after the first corroded away. I
have a brand new can on the shelf. So this makes, erm, well, more.

I just buy parts for bikes, not because I need them, but because when
they're cheap it seems silly not to.

When I had my Trophy 1200, I bought a whole headlight unit and the
fairing mounting bracket. The used, but perfect, headlight cost me
£35-40, and the bracket (NOS) was £25.

I just shoved them on the shelf. And then lunched the fairing, if you
remember. The headlight would have cost £170 to replace, and the bracket
about £220. But I had the bits ready and waiting.

And you have *no idea* of the 400 Four bits I have stashed away....

Oh, er, yer, that will be like the spare XJ900 fairing (in correct colour)
and fairing frame I picked up for 20ukp a couple of years ago)

I'm doing Chester to Hereford next weekend, and then back to Wandsworth.

A detour could be arranged for Sunday evening.

Any chance of a (decent) rear mudguard ?.
Yes I know - UK spec ones are like hens teeth because they rot.
David Silver keeps USA spec ones but that means fitting the fugly USA
    rear lamp.
