  1. I can't stop thinking about the Rock Store LA... last time I rode the
bendy bits on Mullholland was back in 82 on a GPz 550 but this time the
hills will be alive with V4 moozic... I remember Mullholland sporting
one hell of a nice sharp hairpin that was lined with people and their
tripods shooting pics... I wonder if they still hang out there waiting
for someone to toss their ride???

Oh man, are you in for a rude surprise. Twenty years of development
have taken a toll on the Santa Monica Mountains. The area is still
basically rural, but with a lot more houses along Mulholland than you'll
remember. However, That Turn is still there, riders still toss away
perfectly good motorcycles, and others stop to enjoy the show. The Rock
Store itself overflows with Harleys on most Sunday afternoons.
I'll stop by on the RC30.

  6. Hmm, think I'll pass on that one. LA is just too smoggy and too crowded.
I'm heading to Songdog for the Fall Rally and then Vegas to catch Cirque du
Soliel and then Southern Utah to play up in the twisty red rock canyons....

    Life is good!

PS. I finally uploaded my Costa Rica pics....

Just below the turn the road has been narrowed to one lane
with a stop sign in each direction. On that stretch of road,
most people would attack the corners and coast down the
straights. Since it was a physical impossibility to exceed
the posted limit through the turns, the chippies would pull
80 mph "estimates" out of their asses for their citations.

Since 6-15-86, the advances in personal video technology has
rendered the location unusable for CHP enforcement techniques.

Gee, that didn't take very long.

It took a South Dakota a whole day to rebuild a stretch Spearfish Canyon
that was only 10 times as long.

I hope this leg includes riding from Banning to Idyllwild. I rode
that road (CA 243) on Sunday; sweeeet! :)

Peter Roehling reported an Xlax sighting in Riverside County a few days
ago. I stopped by their SLO hotel last evening in hopes of a photo op
with my RC30 and Mr. RC45. I met several other Bay Area VFR listers,
but Larry had left the rest in the dust earlier in the day and got
separated from the group. Presumably he eventually found his way to the
    hotel.

Their ride up 1 this morning should be a memorable one. A warm breeze
kept the morning fog away and the temperatures up. On top of that, fall
weekday traffic is usually light because the tourist season is over, and
Hearst Castle is closed on Mondays anyway.
