    hi y'all,

does anybody do roaddracing on a supermotard type bike.

I'm thinking of trading my XT600 in for a KTM, Husky, Husaberg, or CCM type
jobbie. How do they go on the track ?

I would still have to be able to commute on the bike as well.

Don't want to go for any championship, just circulate (3 or 4 times a year)
    and have some fun.

Does anybody have any experience at doing this kind of thing.

    cheers.

yea it can be done, did it on a TT600 for a while, but hated getting
flogged, so gave it up and got a TZR insdead..

Remember if you throw it away big time, your daily transport is gone
    too... no income.

Basically you just need to remove lights, and wire up the usual oil
fill/drains etc, some good tires, and brakes.. then gearing, adn
riding gear, and racing licence, and spares etc..

Known blokes to ride RGV to track and remove lights race and ride
    home...

Good on smaller tracks like Wakefield. Not so good at Eastern Ck - straight
is too long. They are raced as part of BEARS series. There are a few out
    there doing it.

I was thinking of only doing Broadford. Its one of the tightest track around
    i reckon

AFAIK they don't use the whole track for supermotard. Removed the fast bits
and added dirt. They cut out most of the front straight from adjacent the pit
entry, turn 1, 2 and 3, they've sealed a new section up the hill between the
front and back straights and just use the remainder of the track.. where all
the corners are. They also send the bikes off into the dirt on the infield
after turn 11 and rejoin the track at the start of the pit straight at the
    exit of turn 13.

Yes, some of the guys that race with BEARS do. They are racing at Broadford
on 29/30 November if you're interested in talking to them. Phil Gray is the
best person to talk to. I think he's the president of the club and the one
    with the Supermotard.
