Bearing in mind that speeding is dangerous ... Footage from a cop car going through an estate in the middle of the day. A guy goes past them, in the opposite direction, on a 'Blade, not wearing a helmet. So they turn the car round to nick him, but by the time they've done a 3-pointer he has vanished. They then drive around the estate looking for him ... not chasing him mind, because they've no idea where he is ... just looking for him. Looking for him at 50mph+, going between 2 rows of parked cars on a housing estate in the daytime. Just out of interest, how fucked would they have been if they'd managed to knock somebody over while doing that? FWIW they caught the bloke and he was charged with riding without a helmet. Did he deliberately try to lose the police? If so I'm not surprised they went after him. He'd probably have got off with just a bollocking had he stopped right away. The police must have been thinking - "What other reasons might he have for not wanting us to stop him?" - no tax, insurance, MOT, perhaps he had just stolen the bike? <g>
