  3. Not far from truth at all.
The idea is to use the Road(caution Spin term)Toll to get the 'random'
testing for illegal substances of many types up and running. The traffic
    and droog 'acts' as wedge.
In fact, given enough taxpayer dollars thrown at it via
MarketingJerkoffs, the matter will of course be 'approved' by society.

It's then a piece of piss to extend the testing to anyone, anywhere.

That's where this one is heading.
Yup - testing - 'random' testing of people going about their lawful
occasions - even walking about the streets.

    <conjecture>
It should be remembered that being pissed in a public place is in fact a
CRIME - yup, a real live crime. But to be forced to wear that crown for
the rest of ones life, one must in fact be pissed, and probatively so.
Mere possession of the stuff is not a criminal offence, as far as I can
    tell.
Which must be a real bother to GovCo Control freaks.
So, that matter is outstanding at the moment.

Natch, I'm wondering if this current game will eventually get to having
possession of piss in a public place as a criminal offence. GovCo
heaven!! But at the moment, I'm at a loss to explain how they'll run that
one at us - but as I said, it's a bound to be part of The Plan. Perhaps a
ten-year goal? Easy for GovCo, while we're all busy wondering why the
**** our buying power is being done over on a week-to-week basis.

  4. Dead easy - increase sentences to 3+ years. Stroke of the pen stuff.
That's not an unreasonable expectation at all - given certain sections of
the community continuous bleating re sentencing.
The officers of the Court could then allow parole periods to set things
up similar to current sentences. And I'm sure they would.
GovCo would 'let that happen' parole is a wonderous thing, for GovCo
since it effectively puts a sizable proportion of the population
*directly* under it's control, since the citz concerned would go directly
to jail to serve the remainder of their terms for simply farting in
    church.

  7. Only lunatics will try. The SAL doesn't matter at all to them. never did,
    never will.
Why save the Insurance Shysters money by giving them better weaponry to
    deny claims?
Besides, out there, I say "Let 'em".

Could be. it might have been set "too low" before, it might be set "too
high" now. This "risk factor" thing isn't an exact science after all.
It's "well, we note that these people in these studies had this in
common". Hoping like hell that you are comparing like with like,
    which you often aren't.

And of course it is about populations, not individuals. There are
pack a day smokers who live to a very old age, there are healthy young
individuals who drop dead at 30 for no obvious reason.

  9. This is the same problem as with speed limits.

Somebody figures out how to easily measure something.
THEN they try to justify taking lots of measurements; especially if
the measurement exceeds some arbitrary threshold and hence in
    further income.

  10. Correlation is not causation. For the epidemiologists, there doesn't
    even have to be correlation.

We note that most people who get sick and die have two legs.

We note that amongst obese people, that there's prevalence of
    wearing track-suit pants.

Nah, the answer has been known since the 19thC.

What is it that has a clear effect on people and was known to be the
cause of a lot of debilitation and poor resistance to disease? So
much so that a great deal of effort was put into public health
education to try and eradicate it?

    Masturbation!

Face it - it's a far worse "risk factor" for pretty well every major
disease in the western world. And you can trust the selfless doctors
in a less drug-company influenced medical establishment of Victorian
times. There's a multi million dollar industry driving the "obesity
epidemic" now, the people who were raising consciousness about the
medical risks of masturbation were doing it selflessly.

Yeah, my Father-in-law smoked 130 a day (fags, not packs) and he live to 53.
It was the war-wound in his leg that he got in Egypt that actually killed
    him, not the fags.

  14. I smoked 85 a day and my voice is almost perfect, ...............well to me
    it is

the only problem I have now is when people tell me that I look really good
for my age and that I don't look a day over 75
I have to tell them that I am only 38
