I reported last week about the fresh oil and gravel on FM 4 through Lipan.
It is cleared up now. Has had enough traffic to clear the excess gravel.

Next trip to our humble town please stop and support the new snowcone stand.
Tried one today. Quite a treat for this old man.

west of Granbury on FM 4, we get a lot of bikers this way every weekend.
good loop to make if going west toward PK lake area or south to Hico,
    Lampasses areas.
Currently all my rides have 4 wheels. Just got a kid out of TSU and will
    have another starting soon.
Road many miles years ago on rice burning dirt bikes. Will get me a big one
    some day.

where is this ''humble little town'' << <LIPAN>

BJ, thought I'd jump in here and mention something about this area since it
sounds like you've never ridden it. A couple of years ago I did a tour of
Texas that took me right through Lipan. One of the most pleasant and
enjoyable roads I took on the whole trip was a stretch of Hwy 4 that went
from Possum Kingdom (around Palo Pinto) to Granbury. It gets downright
twisty just north (?) of Santos then settles into some gently rolling hills
and relaxing sweepers as you head toward Granbury. Lipan is a little town
several miles outside of Granbury along this road. I highly recommend this
route if you're ever in that area.
