Let me guess, some egos may have been a bit bruised here. MUST have
been a harley - any other bike would have been overtaking the bus not
    being cut off by it.....

A bus driver is in hospital and one man has been arrested following an
alleged severe case of bikie road rage in South Melbourne last night.

Police believe the incident occurred around 10.50pm when it is alleged
a bus accidentally cut off two motorcyclists near the intersection of
City Road and Market Street in South Melbourne.

In retaliation, the motorcycle riders blocked the bus when it stopped
    at a red light.

Police said one motorcyclist parked in front of the bus and the rider
    left his bike.

It is alleged one of the riders began smashing the door and windscreen
of the bus and assaulting the driver.

The bus then drove forward, dragging the motorcycle, minus the rider,
    for a few hundred metres.

The dragged bike caught fire but was soon put out by one of the
motorcycle riders, who took a fire extinguisher from a nearby service
    station.

The three passengers on the commuter bus were not injured and later
    transferred to another bus.

Police have arrested one man for assault and criminal damage and he is
currently being interviewed in St Kilda.

The second rider has been released pending inquires.

The bus driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and may face
    possible driving charges.

Police are hoping to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.
Witnesses can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Guess again, the footage looked like a Suzuki sports bike fairing under the
    front of the bus.

    or the true story?

if the below is true, they got what they deserved

    http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,21196758-661,00.html

A BUS driver cowered in the back of his bus as three motorcyclists
smashed the windows in retaliation for being told to get out of a bus
    zone.
Driver Ranjana Thenabadu told the Herald Sun his life flashed before
his eyes in the incident that ended at the corner of City Rd and
Clarendon St, South Melbourne at 10.50pm.

The road rage incident had started minutes earlier on City Rd at
Ferrars St, where Mr Thenabadu tried to pull his Ventura buslines bus
into a bus zone to collect waiting passengers.

He told the Herald Sun he couldn't pull the bus off the busy roadway
because three men sat on their motorbikes blocking the space.

"I made a noise with the bus horn, but they would not move," he said.

"I told them I had to get in closer to pick up my passengers but they
stayed there and started abusing me, saying awful things in other
    languages."

It was then the three men allegedly started to pound on the bus
windows, with one allegedly punching Mr Thenabadu to the right side of
the head through his driver's side window.

In fear, Mr Thenabadu started to drive off with two of the men placing
themselves in front of his bus to block his path.

The bike riders drove off a short distance, allowing the Sri Lankan-
born driver of two years to drive on.

As he started to drive towards Clarendon St one of the motorcyclists
suddenly pulled in front of the bus.

The man jumped clear as the bus ploughed into his Suzuki motorcycle,
which was dragged underneath the front of the bus for more than 150m.

British travellers, Ed Abbott and Janette Brassington told the Herald
Sun the bus came to a stop at the City Rd and Clarendon St
intersection outside Melbourne Central Hostel, where they were
relaxing in the ground floor lounge.

They said the men returned to remonstrate with the distressed driver,
smashing the bus door and trying to get in.

Passengers also covered their heads as the angry men tried to enter.

"It happened right in front of us," Mr Abbott said. "The driver ran
down the back to his five or so passengers."

Ms Brassington said: "The two guys left their bikes up the road and
came down with the guy who was thrown off who was the one trying to
    get in.

"His bike started to smoke and it was under the bus. There was a small
fire but luckily it stopped. Police were here so quickly."

Police, fire crews and ambulance paramedics attended the scene where
the three motorcyclists and their friends congregated and directed
heated words at the distraught bus driver.

Paramedics treated Mr Thenabadu for shock and the punch to the head.

The male motorcyclist, aged in his 20s, who jumped free of the bus was
treated for minor cuts and abrasions.

"I didn't know if there was someone under the bus," Mr Thenabadu said
    as he started to cry.

"It was so terrible, I thought it was the end for me.

"I had passengers and what if I hadn't . . . what if that man had got
in to the bus and I was on my own? I just thought about my three kids.

"And my mother, how could I have left her."

I wonder if the retard driving the bus would have stopped if the rider
had remained on the bike .

The cop that was interviewed on tonights Ch10 news said they had gathered a few conflicting versions of events, and the news report
said it was possible the bus driver may also be charged.

No one who isn't would deliberately shove a large impediment several
hundred meters up a road and not comprehend why the impediments owner
    got upset .
Even the passengers think he is .

Experience tells me the bus driver was at fault , couple of years ago I
had one turn right over my front left guard on the car , and then tried
to claim I was at fault .

A bus drives 150m down the road with a bike wedged under the driver's

worried about someone being trapped under his bus like he claimed..

That is his claim , which was precipitated by deliberatively cutting
    said riders off
I read and heard the news , perhaps smokeys link confirms this ?
It was I hear almost taking the rider as well
and there is no justification for this .
Correct , nor to instigate stupid behavior
It sounds like he was used to barging about and got in the shite then
panicked, either way tomorrow will bring more details .

Suzuki actually - stereotypes running away with you again?

Great image actually - rice boy swerves in front of bus cutting it off,
and does a big he-man "stop bus" number ...

    Mr Prosser: Mr Dent.
    Arthur Dent: Hello? Yes?
MP: Some factual information for you. Have you any idea how much damage
that bulldozer would suffer if I just let it roll straight over you?
    AD: How much?
    MP: None at all.
[Mr Prosser storms nervously off wondering why his brain was filled with
a thousand hairy horesemen all shouting at him.]

    Cheers

my brother had a bus go through 3 give way signs, across a 4 lane highway
and t boned him. bus driver admitted it was his fault.

when we rang up for the bus companies insurance detals, the bus company
owner politely said "**** off" and slamming the phone down.

took 6 months and a solicitor to sue him, cost us about what we got back. He
didnt even go to court infact the only thing he did was send a letter of
demand claiming we were at fault and that he will sue us.
