RKA bag for GS

Hey everyone. Happy New Year.

I recall once someone on this list recommended a particular RKA tank bag
for the R11xxGS - and I tried searching the archives and didn't turn up
anything

Sorry to ask again, but could anyone tell me which RKA tank bag you use
on your GS? I have looked at picts of the 7.5L, 6/16L and 13/23L - it
is hard to tell how these bags accomdate the rounded top of the GS'
tank. Also, I suspect that the 23L bag would block the view of the
instruments (it would definitely do so when fully expanded)

Any info would be appreciated. Thanx

 

I'd probably get the 16L, thats what I have on my R1100RS, but RKA shows a
GS with a 23L...

The way RKA tank bags attach is way more stable than the BMW multivario (I
had one on my RS, it was annoying, too narrow, too tall, always flopped
over in a crosswind, etc)

the 7.5 is just too small.

 

I guess the geometry is different between GS/RS - check out the picts
at the URL John sent. No way, I could see the Temp/Fuel gauage when it
was open... I'd have trouble even when it was closed.

Yes, I agree 7.5L is too small!

Thanx for the URLS - I had already checked out the picts - but upon
second look: that 23L bag is TALL - here are the dimensions:

6/16L 9.5W x 13L x 3H (closed=6L) 8H (open=16L)
13/23L 9.5W x 13L x 6H (closed=13L) 11H (open=23L)

The footprint is the same, only the height is different. The closed
23L bag is almost as tall as the open 16L bag ... but the 16L closes
down to only 3" tall... so I guess that settles it for me. I'll go for
the 16L. Hey, thank you for your comments.

Wasn't sure about how your GS might be different, but I have the RKA 16L
on my YZF, and it has been great. 90% it's the small size, and it's never
in the way. Opened up, it'll hold quite a bit.
