I need to invest in some overpants for the wet season (I'm in melbourne, so
that's from January to December) and was considering some Rivet ones that
I've seen on special in an Elizabeth St. bike shop. Has anyone here any
experience with them? How waterproof are they? Do they suffer the dreaded
    crutch leak?

Wow. I've never seen anyone get defensive about Melbourne
    weather before. Bizarre.

It's more to do with the dickhead factor, not the melbourne weather in
    this group.

In case you really wanted to know...

The closest rainfall station to me is probably Fairfield. In the last 4
weeks, the total rainfall has been 5.80mm. The maximum in a single 24
    hour period was 2.20 mm.

I hope this helps you, though I suspect a psychiatrist is the only
    person who can hope to...

I've had Rivet wets since I've been riding, and I've been through some heavy
rain for long periods with them. No leaks.

  16. I've had a pair for several years but very rarely wear them. They get
too hot and sweaty in Sydney but I never go to Melbourne without 'em. The
last couple of times I've worn them I've had wet balls. Not sure if
it was from the outside or inside, but my pissbag seemed intact.

dont know about the Rivet ones but I have the Rjays ones for $25 (normally I
wouldnt touch Rjays) I picked the dririder ones and the sales guy said the
RJs were the best value for money. worn them in many a full day of rain and
not one leak, nice velco closure on the bottom of the legs too

best $25 I have spent on MC gear
