  1. Never knew her, but sympathies to everyone who did.
Judging by the responses on here she will be missed.
I can only echo the RIP sentiments.

Indeed. And Fio's partner, family and friends should know that
depression is no one's fault. It's an illness, much like any other.
Harder to treat than some, harder to detect that most. As you say, Pip,
a vile insidious disease. But *no one's* fault.

I've had the briefest and lightest of brushes with it recently, and it's
an awful, frightening experience. I count myself very, very lucky that I
have got away so lightly, and I now guard against it in every waking
    moment.

I'm terribly, terribly sorry that Fio wasn't so fortunate.

Same here.I'm.Never knew her but by the posts here she was dearly
loved and or known by many.Depression can come to anyone. It takes no
prisoners and doesn't care what colour or creed you are or your social
    status.

I don't believe in god but I accept those who do.If she did then God

It would be very nice, should you post here again, if you could place
your reply below the text to which you are replying: ie. post at the
    bottom, as everybody else does.

You might like to have a quick google for the ukrm CBT before putting
your damn great hoof in it again. Thanks.

Thanks. Might well take you up ont that tomorrow.

Going to Cabbage helped. Thinking about it, the last time I saw her
looking really happy was at Cabbage. It was both Fiona's and Lisa's
birthdays within a week of it so I bought them both tickets to Cabbage
and made them both fluorescent tie-dye tops. It was also Cabbage's
birthday party too and Eat Static were playing and an absolutely top
night out was had by all.

This is Fiona doing poi on the grass outside:

So going to Cabbage seemed like an appropriate way to remeber her. They
even threw a couple of Prodigy tracks into the mix (not their usual
fare) which Fiona would have loved so I danced extra hard for those
ones. All the time I was dancing I was crying but I was also remebering
the good times. Besides one thing I *have* learnt is to let myself cry
when I need to. So it was good - or at least far better than sitting at
    home brooding.

    Molly.

This is the trick I've found, developing decent coping strategies for
things to ensure that you don't give the depression a chance to get
started. And as you say, you have to guard against it all the time,
recognise situations that could kick it off, and move to prevent them.

In my case, I have to be over confident over my actions. If I start
getting into the "what-if" and "maybe" cycle of going over events in
    my head then it starts.

I feel sorry for Fiona, it's a shame she couldn't find another way out
rather than the drastic one she took. It does make me glad, though,
that I never went quite that far.

    RIP.
