  4. It's always tragic when someone with so much potential goes so young. RIP

I still wonder how much different the MotoGP scene would be today if we
had Katoh in the mix. So much incredible riding that we'll never see,
and so much potential wasted. Live for the moment.

    2nd that.
I hope Andrew Pitt doesn't feel guilty; there was nothing he could've done
and he was lucky to stay on himself.
Seeing the spinning body was sickening and fortunately the host broadcaster
had the good sense to go to a long shot and not show the medical crew
    ministering to him.
Very sad result but on-the-gas in 2nd place in front of your cheering home
crowd is probably not too bad a way to go, when you have to go.

I watched a DVD about Jarno Saarinen yesterday. He was leading the 250 &
500 GP and the F750 championships when he was killed in 1973. After his
(and Renzo Pasolini's) death Yamaha withdrew their works teams from the
championships for the rest of the year.
Yamaha did win in '75 with Giacomo Agostini ('though he took one race on his
old MV) and then 78-80 with King Kenny but they really looked like they were
going to own the decade until Saarinen died.

Mate of mine named his cat Jarno. And later named his dog Croz.

Croz would be a good dog name. I can see a lot of Croz in our little
    terrier Scrabble.
