Ahh; gotcha. I didn't notice the capital W and assumed the Brisbane water-police were investigating! http://mywebsite.bigpond.com/ijpj/Police_Pages/graphics/wpbadge.GIF I'll go sit in the stupid chair now.......

Dammit; I just can't think of the name but there's a town near Tarago (NSW) and another near Maitland with the same names. Aarrrgh....
I'd like to see evidence of that. I only know of one. Not only that, we have three (count 'em) Happy Valleys. (one a locality near Dargo, one near Myrtleford and one on the Murray between Echuca and Swan Hill. I think they survive as localities because just about no one lives in any of them, so the addresses don't cause confusion. The Seth Ostrayans have two major cities called Kingston. How did they manage that? Moike (Is this a good time to talk about the twin towns of Colignan and Nangiloc?)
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/indepth/section/0,,5014068,00.html ....west of Timboon. And the other one's up north near the NSW border... betty
(What's with "Brisbane Water police are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information about it to contact them...". Is there a Sydney Brisbane as well as the Melbourne one?) Brisbane Waters police are the mob that "look after" the Old Road, from Mooney Mooney towards Gosford. Given the nature of the road there probably weren't too many witnesses out walking their dogs. regards, CrazyCam
That would be the Warrnambool Rutherglen then? I realise the Herald Sun is an authoritative source, but there isn't a Rutherglen on the GOR anywhere. Google Maps concurs.
I checked the Postcode book as well, and there was only one Rutherglen.... <shrug>. Not vouching for the veracity of the Herald-Sun - the two Rutherglens just seemed quite notable on the occasion I was playing with the map. Maybe it's a typo, who knows? I sort of noted it and filed it in my head (I sometimes store odd bits of info). Damn. Now I feel compelled to check further. betty
I used to be similarly confused by the suburb of Whitford in Perth. Whitford Road leads you to Whitford City Shopping Centre, and people always referred to 'going to Whitford', but there is no postcode for Whitford because it doesn't exist, the shopping centre is in Hillarys. Theo
Alan's funeral service is Friday, at 12.00. I will be going, by car. Leaving Beecroft at 10.00. If anyone wants a lift there and back, feel free to e-mail me. regards, CrazyCam
