  1. Indeed you should. Bloody funny though.

  2. Tracy's car she lent you? With the heater that took 200 miles to warm
    up...

They were waiting for us to tell them we'd finished, or so they said
at the progress meeting at 16:00.

That said, there'd been intra-day cross system polling (whatever that
is) so none of the instrument IDs we'd been carefully crafting all day
had migrated to the trading system. So we couldn't input any trades,
    anyway.

So that's UAT back another day, then.

The bloke IC our bit of the project was working up to that as we went
    home.
A bit. Apparently I'm being charged out by my "normal" department at
£500 a day - which could lead to an interesting chat come salary
review day, which is, er, Monday. :)
    You're not alone.
It's okay, really, as we've ended up with 3.5 weeks instead of 2. So
one day isn't going to matter. At least it's not our fault - which is
    the important bit.
Small cog, me. I'm the hired help, and no more.

  5. Thanks. I'm going to check eBay but just to see what they're fetching.
Last time I was vaguely interested they cost a small fortune.

Yes, but you keep all your old tax discs to use as a recall aid.

  8. I've had some and thought they were crap. They never got hot enough.
    Heated seat?
How can you tell the brakes need a clean? Funnily enough, under normal
circumstances, my front lever has about an inch of travel before the
brakes start to come on but atm they seem to come on very sharply at
    about 5mm.
    Not a bad result, that.
Oh bugger. You must *really* want to do it properly :)
Ah, same as mine then. So they just need a clean?
Forget it and have a drink instead :)

I had them on my second ZZR1100, they were brilliant. According to bike
dealers, they are the only make that don't go wrong too.

These weren't the right length, and they were rubbish.
    Illuminated front disc covers. :)
I *think* it's what happens when the pistons get a bit grubby. A quick
clean and polish, and they seem good as new.

I'll gift-wrap it, if you like. If I score a monkey a year extra, I'll
    be surprised.
What I mean by that is, if everyone ensured that they weren't
responsible for a delay, there wouldn't be one in the first place.

If we'd fucked up, we'd have known about it soon enough, I'm sure.

  12. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
Warmfit are the only ones that don't go wrong... nothing to get worn,
    see?

They've all been removed from this house. When Champ visits we like him
    to concentrate on us.

  14. *Nice* I've got some blue neons under my frame. Have you tried the
    colour changing dash bulbs yet?
They seem to do it when I've not ridden it for two or three days. Once
I've done a couple of miles they seem to right themselves. Besides, it's
too bloody cold to go outside and strip brakes :)

    Whinging Courier, Mar 4, 2005
  15. Mine never went wrong. They had that big chunky bit that stopped the
wiring getting stretched at the grip. They just didn't get hot enough
and in the coldest conditions had to ride round with them on start for
    80% of the time.

  18. Hahaha!

They're those blue wanker lights that the Nova bois put on their window
washers. In my defence I put them on to improve visability from the side
in the dark and I've moved them from underneath to inside, so now they
light up the engine rather than the road.

    Whinging Courier, Mar 4, 2005
  19. That was the problem with them - V8 lump almost unburstable (apart from
the cam lobes wearing out) the rest of the car was designed for
something producing 40 bhp less. In fact the difference between the
carbed V8 and the 2600 was less than that as the V8 was in a low state
of tune as standard - about 135bhp.

    Simon Atkinson, Mar 4, 2005
  20. Is that all? Blimey. It should have run for ever. I mean, the same lump
was producing double that and more in other cars, wasn't it?

What was the power of the 3.5 Vitesse, then? There was one for sale in
Tun Wells a couple of years ago, and I was so tempted.
