Nah: a bit of bizziness at work, a large freelance wallop (Bike's being
redesigned and the rear pages changed again, and CMCM wanted some
stuff), other personal matters (not serious, just requiring a lot of
time), all coincided.

So there wasn't enough time for all that and ukrm. And the personal
stuff got sorted quickly, editors have been given what they want, and
all's hunky-dory. No whahala.

Killing replies to a k/filed poster rather than the whole branch. It
would be nice if each killfilee could have individual settings. For some
just the first reply, others three replies perhaps for some the whole
branch.

I in fact did unsubscribe, and in fact have managed to put the time
saved to good use in reading. Exams are in 13 days from now.

I had a gander via google at the entirely predictable claims that I was
lurking (I wasn't), and a few other threads. That was 'better' ? I
don't think it was any worse (my opinions as to the value of any
individual poster are well known), but it did seem to be the usual blend
of back-slapping, sucking up, in-jokes, and whispering-behind-hands that
have characterised this 'place' for as long as I can recall.

Actually, I'd recommend a period of unsubscribing to _anyone_. You get
to look at UKRM from 'outside', and see what a petulant crowd of
sycophants this newsgroup is, although the 'downer' is to come back, and
see that it hasn't changed.

Anyway, we have different definitions of what constitutes 'better'.

In any case, save your killfile for someone who merits it; I'm back to
reading. Writtens are on 15, 16 and 17 of the month.
