If was registered before 1981, as the date suggests, a RH sidecar is
legal. After that date, it isn't.

    http://www.f2motorcycles.ltd.uk/rhsidecars.html has some interesting
    reading.

It seems to already be registered... (UK reg July 2007)

MOT man doesn't seem to give a toss which side it's on.

Hmmm - UK registration number so this one looks legal.
Only 24 BHP from a 650cc engine is a bit pants, might have problems
keeping up with the traffic on a motorway.
OTOH it could be graet fun off road and the knobbly tyres suggest
that it has some history in the mud.

I dont see any mention of it being 2wd , which I'd have thought would
be the only reason you'd want a right hand chair?

ORLY? Then seller should get the ticket if it's that hassle free.

I was starting with "cheap" and "working" as the first criteria.

Once those are met luxuries such as ability to cruise at speeds above
    60mph will take precedence.

I suspect that this isn't going to cut the mustard. Especially now
    you've mentioned 2wd, I'm suffering feature creep.

There appears to an unloved BMW K100 with vclosex (typo I guess) side
car for £400 listed in London gumtree which caught my eye too.

I was impressed with the cruising speed of all the Beemer outfits in
    February.

Well you learn something new every day. I didn't know they were *ever*
illegal. Whatever next I wonder, no left hand drive cars unless they're
    sheds?

It's that "Rich Dad Poor Dad" thing, I like to invest in liabilities.
That way at least I know were the money has gone and I get some
enjoyment into the bargain. As opposed to my investments where the money
magically disappears. Meaning some investment banker is living it up in
the Bahamas waiting for the next time I feel I should invest for a
    rainy day.

    RH chairs are intrinsically evil.

IMO, the problem with RH chairs isn't so much the riders position but all
roundabouts, slip roads etc. repel the outfit into the nearest
    exit/wall/armco.

LH chairs are only afflicted with this problem when they leave the
    country.
