Riding on the right... Headlight converter?

Given that next Monday I'll be taking the 955 down to the house in France
and that a large proportion of the riding over there will be done at night
could anyone advise me on how to dip the lights to the right instead of the
    left?

Is it just a case of turning the horizontal adjusters on each light til they
point the 'wrong' way (will they adjust the lights *that* far out of UK
    alignment?)?

Or can I just slap on a couple of those stickers that Halfords sell for
    cars?

Or is there another way of sorting it out so I can actually see where I'm
going once it gets dark without dazzling oncoming traffic too much and/or
having to try to guess what is lurking to the right hand side of the road?

    TIA

    Dave

I give a **** about being able to see my side of the road though, so it is
    an issue for me.....

Having driven in France just about every day/evening on my half dozen trips
there since October, I'd say if you are encountering people using full beam
everywhere they're either tourists following your advice or just disgruntled
usenetters out to get you.. :)

The standard of night time driving has been, on the whole, a damn sight
better than the standard of the daytime drivers I followed/had to avoid
    coming towards me.

And the full beam situation could lead to some awkward moments with
gendarmes/police etc - I don't know how many stations there are between
Calais and Cahors, but I go past 3 between Cahors and my house and that's
    only 20km.....

Think I'll just buy those £3 sticky things and at least make a nod towards
    legality[1]

    Dave

[1] Which I know is probably just being too whiny and gay about the whole
thing - from what I observed at Le Mans last weekend, I must have had the
only UK registered car with headlight dipper things on it - but I am well
aware of the whole world of shit the French beaurocracy could place me in if
I were unlucky enough to meet Gaston on the night shift after Mme Gaston
told him she had a headache 4 hours earlier....

I mostly don't bother, but a strip of insulting tape in the appropriate
place generally shows willing if you're worried.

The question has two parts to it:

    1. The legal bit - this has me slightly worried and just wanting to avoid
unpleasantness if at all possible as, if I do get a tug, it'll probably be
for noise/stupidity/excessive speed/ all three anyway so I don't want to
    compound the problem;
    2. The main reason, though, is so I can actually see where I am going after
x-hours of riding when it has turned dark...

The insulating tape idea works for 1., but not for 2. and 2. is more
    pressing....

    But thanks anyway...

The idea is to cut out that portion of the beam that lights up the bank when
you're driving on the left. This is an add-on to the basic flat dipped
beam. The only place this would go when riding in France is into the eyes
of oncoming drivers. Blanking it off doesn't cut down the general
    illumination significantly.

I've used insulating tape in the past but the Halfords things deflect
    rather than mask.

No. This will not give the desired result, as the pattern is built-in
    to the lenses themselves.
That will stop you from blinding oncoming traffic, but they're not
very good, IME, at reversing the pattern as they claim.
TBH I was quite happy driving at night on the UK-spec Sprint ST, which
has virtually the same lights as yours. I never fitted any deflectors
or adjusted them in all the time I used it over here. But I would have
had to get new light units to register it over here, which was one of
the reasons I got shot of it when I did.

I imported my bike to Spain from the UK. I got an ITV (MOT) with no
