Rode over a 500ml coke bottle (plastic, sealed) on the A12 couple of
years back. Absolutely pinched I was when I realised that I couldn't
miss it. Didn't feel a thing.

Well, theoretically, if I had to choose between a brick and anything solid
and cylindrical of about the same diameter for the likely effect on
stability I'd choose the brick. Being far too tight fisted in the real
world to shell out for new tyres I'd opt for the branch, roller of whatever
    ;-)

  3. You call that malarky? Amateur. In 1968 I was tooling through Glencoe in
the dusk on my Triumph 6T sidecar outfit and I ran over a sheep. In
those days the roads were relatively quiet and you often used to see
sheep lying on the road I assume because it was a bit warmer. Sidecar
went up, I made scared noises and managed to keep the contraption on the
road. No idea what happened to the sheep.

It was touch and go for a while, but you will be pleased to know that
Dolly S. made a complete recovery, and is now a successful merchant
    banker in the City.
