    Hi Folks,

Looks like yours truly will be heading to Gladstone for 3 months on a
contract very soon. If so, I'm considering taking the XX for commuting and
    more importantly, for after-hours indulgement.

If any of you know, what are the roads like up that way - condition, type,
cops, animals etc. (the last 2 are not necessarily mutually exclusive...)?
If it were you, would you have a bike up there or just leave it in Sydney
for weekends (I'll be flying back to Sydney almost every w'end)? Are there
any decent rides in the area? What's the Gladstone - Rockhampton road like?
About 2 hrs long?? Gladstone - Brissy? About 6 hrs?

The other option would be to rent a bike I suppose but if it's worth it,
better to take my own (plus that means a good spin from Sydney - Gladdy -
    Sydney! :)

    Cheers,

Oh yeah, pop in and see 'Bloodnut' (Denis) at the Harvey Norman store
in happy rock. Tell him Aaron from Townsville sent ya. :)
Fairly certain he has a bike these days so he'll be a riding companion
    for ya.
