So, the DR-Z being fubared [1], I pick up the new bike [2] on
    Saturday.

[1] Fixable but it will take a couple of weeks to sort it all out,
what with life the universe and everything else.
    [2] Mint [3] 06 Z1000 with 6K on. Should be fun.
    [3] Silver actually.

Dunno yet, havn't had a chance to sort it. I've been given numbers
for a couple of local guys that can weld it up.

They're over-priced as new (or so I'm told) and depreciate like
buggery from the new price - they're what - 7K+ new? This one, less
than a year old, from a dealer, 4.6K and there's some further
negotiation to be done when I pick it up - they won't go any lower on
price but will haggle over a lid or somesuch. Apparently it was up
for 5.0K last week but the rubbish weather is hitting bike sales.

I'm not, I'm getting a fair price [1] for a....pile of Brit Shite.
It's not crappy, beyond the intrinsic crappiness of what Norton kept
building for 30 years longer than they should have.

    [1] Market rate or thereabouts

I must admit that bike pricing causes me more than a few problems,
from a logic point of view.

I own three Hondas[1]. The most reliable, lowest mileage, most modern,
fastest, best handling, best braked, best condition one is worth the
    least amount of cash.

    It makes no sense.

Yes, I do know about supply and demand but it's still bonkers.

    [1] Yes, Champ & Bear, I *know*.

Yes, undoubtedly. But I can afford it, I've always wanted one, I've got
the space, and I doubt it'll depreciate much.

I expect to swear at it quite a lot fairly soon, mind.

And it might not always be yellow.

Bizarrely similar reasons for my original purchase. You'll spend
money on it, but it will never lose the cost of capital.
Oh yes. Ask me about the horn.
It was going to go black...

Don't really care TBH. I like old brit bikes, you don't. Yes
they're rubbish in comparison with pretty much anything contemporary
    from Japan but WTF.

    Oh yes. Black.

    Or...

See, when I was young and impressionable, my mate Adie[1] had this 750
Commando. And it was green. BRG. Lovely, it was.

BRG. That might be the answer.

[1] Not that one. A male.
