A friend of our was t-boned in spring branch last night. Driver was a hit and run. Ron ended up with staples in the back of his head, ripped his hand open and busted up his foot. He was riding a HD sporty not sure what is left of the bike. There were witnesses and one guy went after the driver... not sure if they found him.

I have not talked to Ron but was told he is home but in pain.

I will let you know more details as I get them.

I was on the BBS's in the 80's but I have never lived in Dallas... I have
also never used the name Toe on-line before.

I can get the street names... was North of I-10.... off Bingle near a police
sub station.... I don't know the cross streets he was on.

He had on a helmet but is was one of those tiny little novelty helmets. The
helmet slid forward. Brings up a good point, (if you wear a helmet) can you
slide your helmet forward or off your head when it is strapped on? If you
can you need to tighten it up or get a lid that fits.

The helmet held his brains in but could have done better if it would not
have slid forward. The helmet would not have helped the damage to his hand
where most of the blood loss occurred.

  6. most likely Long Point, i know eggzacklly where yer talking about. i'm
not far from where Bingle goes south of i-10.
knowing the neighborhood, i bet it was an illegal visitor, lots in that
area and they have good reason (for themselves) not to stop. illegal to
be here, no license, no insurance, prolly drinking, etc. heap 'o
trouble if they're caught. if they run and get caught , it's not much
    worse for them.
funny, how a real helmet does what it's supposed to do when required,
and sheot happens fast, no second chances or time outs to get ready, you
either are or you aren't. and that's why those beanies are not DOT
approved, they don't do anything to help you. but he looked cool up to
    the last second. bah...
newp, good set of gloves might if the hand wasn't smashed by the
vehicle. if it was cut on the slide afterwards, gloves work.

poor barsted, that sux. the owners of honda of houston were killed by a
hit and run on wirt, which is not far from there, and a buddy of mine
died last year from injuries in a hit and run. no one was caught in any
of those. pretty damn bad, and i dont know what can really be done to
    deal with it either.
