Thursday morning my wife got out of bed and said she was hungry. Thats
nothing new to me since shes always hungry. She was asking me where I
wanted to go eat some breakfast. I told her how about the Koffee Kup in
Hico,Tx. She asked what that was and I explained to her about the pie
they serve there. Thats all it took and we were dressed and on our way.
She asked me how far it was and I told her it was just down the road a
piece. If I had told her that it was about a 100 miles, she probably
wouldnt have gone. I guess you say that some things are better untold.

We loaded up on the motorcycle and headed out about 7:30 am Thursday
morning. She had never been to Glenrose before and didnt know there
were dinosaur tracks there. We stopped at Glenrose and I took her to
Dinosaur Valley State Park. We ended up spending about two hours there
in the park. The river was pretty low so you could see the tracks real
good. We visited all the track sights there in the park. Some you
couldnt see because there were two school bus loads of kids swimming in
the river. We decided to leave and head for Hico.

I dont remember what time we hit Hico but the Koffee Kup was full of
people. We had to wait about twenty minutes before we were seated. I
had talked my wife into waiting until we got there to eat and she was
ok with that. We both had a burger and a plate of there onion rings. If
you ever go there, one order of there onion rings will feed about 3
people. Then we both ate a piece of pie. That pie makes that trip worth
    while.

Across the street from the Koffee Kup they have a place that sells hand
made chocolates. We went in there and its a good thing my wife was full
from all the food and pie we ate or she would have broke the bank
buying stuff in that little shop. She did end up costing me about
thirty bucks. Those chocolates were really good. We had to try some
samples you know. After about thirty minutes in there we were ready to
hit the road to head back home.

We loaded all the goodies in the saddle bags and got ready to pull out
and I turned to my wife and said " its a hundred miles back home or its
a hundred miles or so to the hunting lease. Where we going?" She said
lets go to the hunting lease. I have a hunting lease in Coleman,Tx and
its still turkey season. So we headed to Coleman. We ended up staying
in Coleman until Saturday evening. I wasnt planning to stay that long
but we did. We rode all over Coleman County. There are several roads
there that have covered bridges and old railroad bridges. Those were
neat to see. We rode alot of the roads I had never been on. Never did
make it turkey hunting. We have wild pigs now and they tore up one of
our feeders so we ended up fixing it and mowing. It turned out to be
    more of a work weekend.

Saturday we headed back home and ended up going to Brownwood and taking
highway 377 back to Ft. Worth. Thats a nice ride. Kinda like riding
thru the country all the way until you hit highway I-20. All in all we
rode about 480 miles. My wife handled the ride pretty good. She did say
that she had enough motorcycle riding for a while. I told her shes just
    a whimp..lol

Buddy, that was a motorcycle ride.
And having your wife aboard, really makes it a more interesting
endeaver, but fun, and something to remember, I say(!)
The most ''we'' have ridden in one day is about 450, maybe 500.
Don't 'cha' just love it, riding and having the little woman holding on
to ya, and making all those lil' comments, and many suggestions, of
where to stop, and needing to use the bathroom. I literally loveit. <g>
Today is Mothers Day, and my wife is one great Mom. She has three
daughter, and quite a great Son, and I love 'em like my own.
Thanks Redshad, and so glad you and she, had a great time, and got back
    without any unpleasant incidents..
This was a **** (star) report, Dood!

I have probably clocked about 2000 miles since I bought that Mustang
seat. I still think the stock seat was more confortable. The passenger
seat however is a 110% improvement. The little woman likes the seat
alot better than the stock one. She can ride about 70-100 miles before
she starts complaining about her rear hurting. I am ready to stop about
then myself. The passenger boards she loves. She says the vibration
makes her legs feel funny though after a long ride. I installed the
thick rubber washers that came with them but I guess they still vibrate
some. That bike is smooth as glass to about 65 mph and after that it
gets some vibration. Others that own the V-Star have said the same.
Seems like that thing needs one more gear up. All in all, it was worth
the bucks spent on the seat and the floor boards.

<snipped a very good ride report, for brevity>

Sounds like a good weekend to me, redshad. I knew you'd like the roads
    around Coleman.

Btw, next time you are in Hico, check out the leathergoods store, located
just north of the Koffee Kup. They have some good deals in there.
