  1. It was perfect riding weather down here in Houston, so Steph and I decided
    to hit the open road. We gassed up the Pacific Coast, and headed out to
    points northwest of town.

    The weather was truly perfect. Sunny, upper 70's, very light winds.

    Nice ride out 529 to Bellville, One of our previous trips out 529 included
    a strong crosswind that almost had me dragging a knee while going straight.

    Upon reaching Bellville, we pulled up to the bakery across the street from
    the Dairy Queen. Lo and behold, we run into Cindy, who's an Aprilia
    Atlantic rider who zips all around the area. She and Steph are friends,
    and we enjoyed kolaches and gingerbread men while taking a break.

    In Bellville, I was astonished by the number of riders who went by;
    probably over a hundred bikes while we ate. Lots of cruisers, a gaggle of
    Goldwings, a few sportbike pilots, and even one soul on a black and silver
    Pacific Coast, only the 3rd we've run across on our rides.

    After the break, we told Cindy adios (she was heading home) and we headed
    up to Brenham, up to Navasota for dinner, then down to Hempstead and back
    to Houston.

    A truly lovely afternoon and evening ride. Life is good.
