I must admit, that I haven't done any tarmac surfing (crosses fingers).
I fell over on my FJ last year, just got off-balance on an off-camber
junction. Now that was a bitch to pick up too, just be thankful yours
    doesn't weigh 275Kg.
    Shit happens.
So, you were going too fast, that was your fault then.
Yeah, done that too, more than once.
In all instances of near miss with myself, I can only say that in 99% of
cases, I was riding too fast, or in an unexpected road position. Of
course the cages don't see you, but as a rider you have to learn to ride
accordingly - assume nobody sees you, leave room, and be prepared to
    stop.

    <snip tale of woe>

Surely you are overreacting a bit. I've had cars try to run me off the
road on numerous occasions (well at least 4) and I just kiss them
bye-bye and leave them to it. Mind you, I can't remember how I felt
first time, but now I think of it as juvenile and don't worry. Mercedes
drivers seem particularly affected by this metality, imho.

I lobbed a brand new bike, twice, within a month of buying it.

I'd been riding as long as I'd had the bike, btw.
BTDT, again, twice, both at filling stations.
That happens to all of us, get over it.
That's just bad luck but again, these things can happen to anybody.
    See answer to 3.
    There's your answer, right there.

  6. You are making me look like a complete amateur. While I don't mind you
stealing my crown it isn't helping you very much.
Threw new Bandit down the road when shit head driver decided to drive at
80 mph in a 30 limit and I thought he was going to punt a turning car
into me. Inexperience of braking quickly was what caused my crash.

On an IAM evaluation ride I failed to spot mud on the road on a tight
bend. I promptly had the front wheel tuck under and off I went. Shit
happens and pride comes before a fall - I'd just been told I was riding
    to a "pass" standard.
I have toppled off every bike I have owned including the RGS in front of
    my house!
I have had endless people and vehicles walk or drive across my path when
    filtering. Thankfully no accidents.
Nearest to this is a pheasant nearly getting mangled by front wheel when
doing 100 mph on the A1 near Peterborough.
Too many to mention. The roads are full of cunts.
Yes but the main thing I did was feel pissed off the first day if it was
serious and then vow to get back on the bike the next day. I then tried
to learn the lesson and incorporate it into my riding. I also did some
advanced training. I remain of the view that you should also get some
    advanced training.

My point is: What lesson can one learn from being the 'victim' of
someone's furious anger? I didn't wish to play a victim.

From the posts in this thread it appears that it happens to people
even if they have been riding for a while, Darsy.
You just don't get it, luvvie. I don't see how an isolated incident
like being picked on by a car driver can just happen exclusively to
people who have been riding for less than thirty years.

I don't feel that being really, really annoyed at someone who tried to
run me off the road is an overreaction.

That would be good, when it's a bit warmer and drier. :) Otherwise I'll
    be taking my CG125[1].

[1]which is going to be fitted with a 4 to 6 hp nitrous oxide system, as
soon as I finnish getting the bits together.

Nomatter where you go, there you are.

Take one Me and an Anyone, add a selection of Random Incidents and
Incidents to a place called The World. Take Me out of The World and
what do you get? Incidents, Random Incidents and The World. If Me
didn't happen to be involved in those Random Incidents then Anyone
could have them. If there were a string of Incidents that happened to
Me that couldn't happen to just Anyone then there would be a link. For
example, if all of the Random Incidents happened at low speed on a
corner then they're not Random Incidents they're Incidents as they're
all simlar. If Anyone takes five Random Incidents and gives them to
Me then they're still Random Incidents and are not linked in any way
apart from them belonging to Me.

People who have been riding for a long time have a better sense of who
to avoid when possible maybe? I've been forced off the road before on my
CG125, again, when filtering past a stationary load of cars. Thank
goodness for the knobbly rear tyre, and the extra traction it gave me on
    the grass. :)

Another thing you can do is, pull over and stop or turn off if possible,
even give them space to overtake. I was the object of someones road rage
by daring to go the speed limit in a 40 zone in the morning. He
tailgated me when I had my Audi, so close that I couldn't see his lights
(on full beam), so I just pulled over and parked. The bloke that was
following, didn't have enough space to go round without first backing up
and making the person behind him back up, and the person behind him
    backup too.

I kept a cool head, listened to some nice music, he continued raging
away, shortening his life by adding those nasty little stress chemicals
    into his bloodstream.

There's not one thing you can do that works when you get to be the
object of someones rage, you just have to play it by ear.

I made the original post and I've been attacked by several people who
have spouted total utter bollocks just because I've openly said that I
was upset about it. "I almost got run off the road and seriously
injured today by a car driver who intended to harm me, it was fucking
    fantastic!!!!"

  15. Before even considering filtering check out the drivers / vehicles / driving
style , this will help build a picture in your mind of their general
demeanour/ attitude / awareness etc .You then can evaluate whether its in
your general interest to filter or hang back , some drivers really do get
pissed over filtering bikes but are quite happy for you to overtake them
200 yards down the road . If in dought hang back and let them go it really
is a case of self preservation

I understand what you're saying. Obviously all people who drive
yellow cars have some mental imbalance when they're in the queue at
    traffic lights.
I would have taken this option had there been the space to do it, but
with a car bonnet in front at the junction and a car behind and one
trying to crush me from the side the options can be rather limited.
I kept a cool head too otherwise I'd have kicked the his door on the
    way past.
    Which is what I did.

I just want to frame that as being an extremely sensible statement. Applies
equally well to car driving, of course; as my instructor said, always assume
anyone else on the road is a blind idiot with a death wish.

I see what you're saying but how can one judge the driving style of a
selection of 30 stationary vehicles when none are displaying all of
    Halfauds Finest Bodywork Mods.
